Way to Train Your Dog!

Puppies Levels
LEVEL 1 Students may start at Level One any week. Expect to spend 2-3 weeks in Level One before advancing to Level Two.
Content: The importance of becoming the Pack Leader. Positive name recognition. Attention and focus using the food lure-watch me. Dealing with jumping, biting, mouthing, chewing, barking. Crate training. Three stationary exercises-sit, down .stand. Beginning of Come command-find it, come here. Socialization.

LEVEL  2 Students will work at this level until they master the exercises before moving on to Level Three.
Content: Coming when called. Leash manners (loose leash walking), Settle,leave it. House training issues. Beginning Stay and Wait. Handling (t-touch massage). Using life rewards for treats and teaching tricks. More socialization.
LEVEL 3 Students will work at this level until they master the exercises before graduating.
Content: More controlled walking-fast walk, slow walk, turns. leaving distractions. Stay-sit, down and stand positions. Take it-drop it. Wait- especially at doorways and getting out of the car. Practicing through games. Sitting politely for petting.AKC Star Puppy Award.  Beginning Canine Good Citizen.

Adult/Adolescent Dogs
LEVEL 1 Students may start at Level One any week. Expect to spend 2-3 weeks in Level One before advancing to Level Two.
Content: Orientation-the importance of becoming the Pack Leader. Positive name recognition. Attention and focus using the food lure-watch me.Behavior discussion. Equipment review and fitting if needed. Three stationary exercises-sit, down .stand. Beginning of Come command-find it, come here.

LEVEL 2 Students will work at this level until they master the exercises before moving on to Level Three.
Content: Moving Attention. Coming when called. Leash manners & Let’s go!( loose leash walking) , Settle. Leave it-stationary, then with class moving past distractions then class moving past other dogs. Handling (t-touch massage). Using life rewards for treats and teaching tricks. Directing dogs with body language and turn signals. Canine Personality Profile and discussion of drives. Calming signals. Sitting politely for petting.
   
 
LEVEL 3 Students will work at this level until they master the exercises before moving on to Level 4.
Content: More controlled walking (heeling)-fast walk, slow walk, turns. leaving distractions, automatic sit when stop. Heel-sit, down and stand positions. Stay-sit, down and stand positions, adding distance and duration.Take it-drop it. Wait-especially at doorways and getting out of the car. Practicing through games-open for suggestions. Backup recall. Front and Finish. Backward and Foward.
 

LEVEL 4 Canine Good Citizen practice and testing, Problem solving, drop on recall, tricks, beginning scent tracking and more!
